What five items define your childhood?

So I recieved a text from Cassidy last night that she had had to save her Popple sleeping bag from her mother's garage sale! I could appreciate the severity of this because that sleeping bag defines our childhood. It was the coolest most amazing sleeping bag we had ever used or seen! So, it led to a quick text discussion of the other things that define our childhood. We decided that Patrick of course was key not to mention tiger tail donut...yummy. So this morning on my way to work I tried to think of the top five items that defined my childhood...it was a very fun game that kept me occupied on the drive to WIU. So the list is as follows....

1)The Popple Sleeping bag-any true 80s child had a popple....well CASSIDY had a popple that let YOU get inside its pouch with it....awesome right? I was way jealous of this fact..although cassidy and I did share...bad thing about being taller...i outgrew the popple sleeping bag first..boo

2)Patrick aka Dirty Dancing.....our first love We use to sneak into my parents bedroom during nap time to watch this movie....it defined our later thoughts on how guys acting and the kind of guy we wanted...we both wanted a Patrick of our own... :) lol I know the corner quote is the most known...but however my life was defined by the "I carried a watermelon" moment

3)Tigger Tail Donuts.....they were glazed donuts from Day & Palin that had two different colors (a dark and a light)of dough braided to form a tigger's tail....we loved them and grandpa sap provided them as well as Larry faithfully every birthday! I, however, have not found them in years...

4)Wuzzles....although it was a short lived cartoon/book series I loved them..I had and still have (I know i'm cool) all of the characters in stuffed animal form. It was perfect for my love for animals. Two animals formed into one....awesome.
5)This was the hardest one to pick....between ALF, Dukes of Hazzard, and The Monkees...however Monkees have to win...they were my first cassette and I had no clue that davey jones was old....he was cute on the tv when I watched The Monkees with Grandpa Sap and Grandma polly every day...
anyway...so that's it five things that define my childhood.....

Things are great right now....I love school for the first time I am completely working towards a true career path I want instead of what everyone tells me I would be good at! yay for me! I have been attempting to put together my halloween costume.....Halloween is hands down my favorite holiday. This year I am going to be an EMU! We have Howl-zoo-ween at work so I thought I should I go as my favorite zoo animal. I plan to finish construction of the costume this weekend....I even have a beak! I called about colored contacts but they would be 95 DOLLARS A LENSE! Needless to say I told them nevermind.
This weekend is SRD....the worst two weekends in Farmington of the whole year hands down and yet I love it! I love it because I have already plans my meals for the weekends....as I work sundays jeff may have to pick up some of my food for me..lol Porkchops, baked potatoes, nachos, onion rings, walking tacos, dumplings, kettle corn....mmmm Truly I just go to eat...and I am okay with that fact.

Decisions Decisions.....

So I have no job for next year as of today April 20, 2010. I, however, do have several ideas in motion including but not limited to pre-school teaching next year after taking two child development classes at ICC while going back for an endorsement in math, english, or special education. (I have emails/calls/transcript evaluations out to both Bradley and ISU to aid in my decision there) I will of course continue to apply for any Social Studies jobs that come open for next year that would change my whole plans and be a blessing!
I am still waiting to hear back from the Zoo.....please pray! :) It would be a wonderful parttime summer/year round opportunity......I will keep you all updated.
We are expecting puppies in about a week! Payton/Ozzie puppies! If anyone is interested in one please let me know. I will post pictures as soon as possible! :)

I have now seen the grave of a real life gangster.....

So on Friday morning we headed up to Carol Stream to visit with the Cismesia family for Easter weekend/Dan's Birthday! :)
We arrived around lunch time and took Grandma C out to lunch at Sweet Tomatoes...the best place to eat ever! Then since Jeff's Grandpa was buried so close we stopped by. We did this then Jeff reminded me that Al Capone was buried across the street. So....I said let's go see it. Jeff called his Dad and his Dad said it was in a little bit inside the cemetery. So we drove around this huge Catholic Cemetery that had around 400 mini family mausoleums....by mini I mean that each could hold 6-8 bodies with stain glass windows. As you may know I love cemeteries so this was a great trip I really just loved seeing all the neat Italian names and the beautiful windows. I thought Jeff was going to die when we found a mausoleum marked Soprano....he then started telling me how Tony died at the end of the series and here he was......I am married to an idiot.... Now there were regular tombstones and such intermingled. A lot of the tombstones had pictures on them of the people buried there which I hadn't seen in such old graves before. It was really nice to see the pictures.
Anyway so we finally call Char to check online to see where Al Capone was buried.......oh he was right off the entrance. Dan had us looking in more. We finally made it to the grave and it had a large family name marker then just simple ground markers for each member of the family. Alphonse's grave had a cigar and some pennies on it.

SO there it is I have seen the grave of a real life gangster.....

Found my purse under the mattress...

So Friday night we went downtown Cedarburg. A great time........but here the story begins on the call of bar time. Chris says he is getting my coat....I think "how nice"....I then turn around and Chris has bolted out the door in my warm winter coat. So Jeff being a gentleman gives me his North Face. We walk....lose Chris and split up into two groups to walk two different ways to see if we can find Chris. (I give Jeff back his North Face telling him my purse is zipped up in the pocket. We speedwalk back to the house to find Chris already home. (I walk Payton then head to bed.) Jeff's group of him and Bobby reach the house sometime after this.....the next morning I wake up and my purse is MIA!!! I don't freak out...worse case scenario I am out a twenty dollar bill, a drivers license, and my phone. Only later do I remember my camera is in the purse....and that losing my phone means losing ALL MY NUMBERS!....anyway everyone pitches in to search (thank you everyone) we do not find it.....jeff remembers Bobby complaining about it beeping on the way home near the house. So.......we think its somewhere in the house...of course it is dead so calling does no good.....Anyway....at the end of the day I decide that I will go room by room just one more time.....for some reason I life the mattress because jeff says he thought he threw my purse at me when he got home because he was mad I was sleeping already while he was walking home....haha AND UNDER THE MATTRESS I FOUND MY PURSE.....how it got there is beyond me...but I was overjoyed at finding it . (Jeff said that since it was found I was then in trouble for the five slaps I gave him at the bar.....which BTW I now know why Sam finds slapping so much fun....)
Lastly, I would like to say that I dislike Donald Trump, but watching everyone diss on Blago is HILARIOUS!

Best Bar Ever........

We decided to head to Milwaukee last minute yesterday, Ally couldn't come to visit so we had no plans (good news Ally made plans to visit us next weekend!). So we drove the 4-5 hours to Milwaukee last night with Payton. (We brought Payton to socialize with two of my favorite dogs in the world ....Carter and Zoey!) Anyway, so the group decides to do the bars in Cedarburg (Just realized that as I suck at Spelling I cannot spell Cedarburg for sure) So we get to our last bar for the night and Krista says "I knew YOU would love this bar" and I am thinking it just looks like a Townie bar. Then this big Rottweiler walks around the corner!
YOU CAN BRING YOUR DOG TO THE BAR!!!!!!!
It was amazing, the bar does not serve food so dogs are allowed. I hope we get back there sometime to take Payton! She would love it!
The other thing that is AMAZING here in Cedarburg.....CANDY APPLES! Which we are suppose to go get one today...a little pricey but amazing.
Oh and I slapped Jeff like 5 times last night just because it was fun....I know understand Sam's slapping obsession....and when i told jeff he could slap me back he said that they would prolly beat him up for slapping his wife...oh double standards that work in my favor....

My name is Jessica.....and I'm a tvaholic

My mom has ALWAYS jokes about how much I love television. I can literally get hooked into a show by just sitting down for a minute and tune out the entire world (The tuning out part is the part that I believe annoys my mother the most) For instance, Karl loves Bonanza One day he was watching it.....I was in the room...my mom started talking to me and I was oblivious because I was trying to figure out what was going to happen on Bonanza. Which btw I rock at figuring out how kill them.....the twist that is coming next...if only that was a job too.....maybe I should write tv?
I knew I could spend a day watch Law and Order Marathons (minus Criminal Intent which I don't like and that says a lot about how bad it is) or Lifetime movie marathons.......but it wasn't until I got DVR that I realized how bad my love for tv was. I can admit that I would at times a couple nights a week Tape a show on my VCR and watch the other show I loved in the other room. But with DVR I can tape two shows....and watch one I have taped with no commercials. Once I even had two taping and watched a third in the extra bedroom.
I would like to say that this post is not about quitting tv or even wanting to.....it is merely admitting that there is a problem.
I love my DVR and thank goodness that Jen told me how wonderful Direct TV is!!
So tonight as I watch Grey's, Private Practice, and The Office please know that I will enjoy every minute of it. and tonight isn't even a busy television watching night that's Monday and Tuesday.....
(Good news though I have started walking a mile every morning and every night....with the tv of course :) Haha and have stuck to it for three days so far)

All I want is a Fridge!!! AHH!

So...about a week and half ago our 2.5 year old fridge stopped working. So.....we called a repairman and he came out Saturday to tell us that it would cost 850 to fix....WHAT?!?! So needless to say we went fridge shopping saturday night.....being an adult sucks.
Sears wouldn't delivery until the 19th so we bought our new one with a five year warranty at Best Buy delivering Thursday! So a few more days of living like we are Amish! YUCK!

Annoyed and Disgusted

So......bullying is a real issue...as we have learned through several devastating events that have happended in our school systems..."it doesn't happen in our school" is not an acceptable answer because it is.....even in our small town schools........the escaltion of bullying can happen quickly and under the nose of adults including parents, teachers, principals and so on.....If you repeatedly have students getting punched or hit then clearly your anti-bullying messages are not getting through. I don't care about these individuals sad stories....we all have them...but to use it as an excuse or crutch does not help the individual because when they are adults and have committed a crime...the law does not care about their sad sob story. It is time to teach our youth to be accountable and chose right from wrong. Do I as an educator wish that these values would be taught in each home...yes but the reality our educators are facing is that for some students only school provides structure and support to instill in them a sense of how to become successful human being that can make good decisions.....
Do you know that thanks to our love for research based everything in education that anti-bullying programs can be found today that are research based! GOD BLESS AMERICA. we in 2010 are past saying "boys will be boys" or "well it happens"
So for one certain school and its principal.....let's step into 2010 and realize suspending students doesn't alone solve the problem......let us re-evaluate our program and watch our students more carefully...because if our current policies were working....I would not be upset today nor writing this post......Let's have team building excersizes within grade levels.....let's attack bullying from every angle possible........get the community involved.....do whatever it takes
Schools today are more than formal learning.......they need to be a community center...perhaps it's a lot to ask of our schools but I feel it is the right thing to ask.....

It's Monday Again....Already

Why is that the weekend goes by in the blink of an eye...yet my Monday-Friday seem to take FOREVER! It's a cruel joke really...and i'm not laughing
Saturday I had lunch with Danielle, Dawn, Jessie & her girls, Cassidy & Parker, and Jeff too at the Pizza Co....It was a lot of fun! First of all Jessie's girls are too cute....and Sophie kept kissing Parker....mind you we kept encouraging it but it was too cute! Parker wanted to run around the bar.....I told Cassidy he was definitely Jake's son :)
Sunday the Cismesias visited! We went to the home show....there is tons there! We got information on a windmill to do our electricity in the future....and such......Then lunch at Hoops...it was great! I had always heard great things, but never eaten in there :) Then home to watch the rest of the USA vs. Canada game......and to let Poochie visit with Char.... :)
Overall a great weekend!

Karma Chameleon

I believe strongly in Karma...because everyone at some point will get what they deserve whether positive or negative......I just hope Karma hits some people right in the face....
TGIF! After a long horrible week I am looking forward to lunch at the Pizza Co with friends, Seeing Parker!, and the Cismesia Visit on Sunday...not to mention just get caught up on things at home and the store.
Spring Break.....34 days and counting.....the only thing that stinks is Jeff's Spring Break is the week before Easter and mine starts on Good Friday and goes the week after Easter....although it is good because he has stuff to get done....so I won't be there to bother him.

Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go

The Hill The Tree Down (Okay it is not that big, but it's right on the curve!)

Even the Shack is beautiful in the Snow!

Jeff comes in at 6am....please note that I am still asleep..."You have Farmington and Princeville Kids Right" Me out of my slumber "Yes" Jeff "Well they are both out" I love him, but as most of you know I love no one before 9am.
You may think this is a post about my exciting snow day! It's not......Bartonville had school which means I have work. We had trees down and TONS of snow, but I made it! I guess I will appreciate it in May when I am out of work and Austin is in school! But as of today....sucks!

I have a new show that I love...Pawn Stars on the History Channel! OMG....Old Man is hilarious! He created a cuss jar...made everyone pay a dollar each time they cussed then he cussed everytime he was alone doing his interview. The show is a pawn store and shows them buying/pawning old items! Very Neat Stuff!
I almost forgot Jeff made his first bid at an auction Saturday! He took my number for a leaf blower and ended up with six boxes of junk for a dollar...and actually did pretty well! I am so proud! He had fun....I think he may start going with me more often...at least for a small amount of time! :)
Finally...CONGRATS USA MENS HOCKEY ON BEATING CANADA! :) (I realize that I dislike the Olympics because it makes my shows reruns....but I do like to watch some events! GO USA!)

She Blinded Me with Science

It only takes one day in Bloomington for me to miss it like crazy! What a FANTASTIC weekend! It started out Saturday with lunch at Applebees with Jeff and Megan. At lunch Jeff and Megan argued over the science of Back to the Future (Due to the fact that I wore an 80s awesome looking outfit).....Megan saying it makes no sense and Jeff saying that Doc could not be wrong.......Jeff left us to go take (and pass we hope!) his test to be an administrator. He studied a lot so we all hope that he passed.....especially Payton and I for our villa...right jeff? :P

Megan and I spent a little time shopping (Jewel and the Mall) then did our secret mission...thank you megan for being part of my secret mission. We picked up Jeff a valentine's day candy box that read "Whale you be my Valentine?" with a big whale on the front...as most of you know when jeff proposed the cake was screwed up and read "We you marry me?" Classic I know!
Then Megan and I checked into the Holiday Inn Airport and just hung out with Ben!

Dinner was great at BWW (Next the the hotel...which I had to say to jeff on the phone directing him about a million times).......with everyone that came! Ben, Jill, Jon, Erin, Kevin, Garcia, Nicole, Julie, Matt, Eppie, Sterl, Gabe, Megan, and Jeff! I appreciate it so much to know that we can still all get together and it seems like no time has passed at all! Then time spent playing Quarters at the hotel....Megan took a tequila shot like a champ! I am proud to say I did not lose Quarters once! I rock at drinking games.....

Finally Everyone (Except Eppie who had her mom coming in for the night..and those beautiful babies to take care of! and Nicole/Garcia had plans and Sterl/Gabe had to get home) went bowling! Bowling is so fun....with drinks! Dawn and Derrick arrived at bowling (they were late as Derrick had a game) ....Derrick my new favorite person walked in and wished me a Happy 21st Birthday! They got me an awesome wine glass that I drank beer out of the rest of the night.....at the bowling alley........The best part of Bowling...I BEAT JEFF THREE GAMES IN A ROW..Ben told me the next morning that it was only by a total of five pins...but who cares...a win is a win.......this should mean I get a puppy but jeff said NO! How Rude! :) Lastly we headed to Maggies for a couple last drinks! It was a wonderful night with wonderful friends! (The next morning we got breakfact at Shannon's ......those of you that could not make it.....you can be jealous!)

Eye of the Tiger

OMG....I have watched Survivor off and on although never regularly over the last ten years. So I decided to watch Heros vs. Villians this year......HOW MEAN ARE THOSE PEOPLE! I must admit I thought of the undoing the top idea...because for some people that would be the end all, but to dislocate a girl's shoulder.....
and James.....HOT! I have decided to add this to my weekly tv shows....we all know I love tv so its just one more to add to the list and because of the Olympics some of my shows are off for THREE WEEKS! Yuck!
Oh I got the new biggest loser workout video....I may die...

Another Day In Paradise

....i hate waking up thinking I will have a snow day...only to find out that the only schools in session in the area is the one that my schedule goes by.....I will have to say that our road is better than it was the day of the ice storm.......
Today I am sitting in the girls' office....because all of my kids today have no school.......yep all the schools I go to are closed but I had to make my way to Peoria to sit and do paperwork....I would rather be super busy than this boredom of paperwork!

What happened??? The Saints are a wonderful story...no Super Bowls....a long history.....a city that knows tragedy.....but man I really wanted a COLTS Superbowl win Again.....I now know how you Bears fans felt after being up by 7 in less than 15 seconds in Super Bowl XLI then losing to the Colts.....Losing sucks....and onside kicks suck....and stupid old kickers who miss field goals suck....
Commercials.......
Best: DORITOS little kid slapping mom's date and saying "Keep your hands off my mama, Keep your hands off my doritos" The little boy is the cutest thing ever!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Thanks to everyone for all the birthday texts, calls, messages, gifts, and cards! :) I had a great time going to Burlington for the day.....antiques stores, lunch, and shopping!!
Payton started Intermediate puppy school as well on my Birthday! She is the smallest in her class....the other dogs' heads are about the size of little Payton! She did ok. She was a little to scared by the all big dogs to do much.....but I am going to work really hard with her this week so that she can get a lot of classes! This morning I worked on "Watch Me" which attempts to get her to put all her focus on me. Now in a quiet environment that is no problem....meaning she understands the command.....however she is easily distracted. So today I worked on getting her to watch me with the radio and blow-dryer on. She did better towards the end of the training time....so hopefully we are improving already!

Sometimes it's best to not know....

As many of you know my grandpa Sap is/was very dear to my heart. I love everything that reminds me of him. Pictures/Fireman Badges/Trunk/Letters/Tic-Tac-Toe Game....the most important thing to me from him is my playhouse he built when I was 3 or 4 years old. I'm not talking a crappy playhouse. I am talking full out HOUSE! Siding....Roofing....windows.....deck.....well when my mom moved we had no where to put it....we were not living at the farm yet so we had to leave it behind. Jeff my sweet thoughtful husband tried for the last two years to get ahold of the people who lived in my old house. Offering to buy it...they did not return calls or answer any contact made. Well the *ssholes got evicted so yesterday everything left in the house was thrown out on the curb. My mom, flu infected, went adn got me the oak mirror I had forgotten to take with me. I LOVE IT! :) The saddness when I stopped was when I went to look at my playhouse....it is ruined...destroyed....I started crying.....for at least an hour. The idiots let their rottweiller destroy it and use it was a dog house. My playhouse is missing the entire front and one side is caved in........
I just can't believe it. I just always thought that I would get it back again someday somehow. Why do people just destroy things....my playhouse may have been 20 years old but it was in perfect condition just a few years ago......why not buy your dogs a dog house instead of destroying my playhouse Or use it as a shed....as I assumed it would be if there were no kids....anyway....saddness......horrible........unforgiveable......what a crappy week...

COLTS ARE IN THE SUPER BOWL!

So....the ice storm last week...was horrible! My truck wouldn't go up the big hill because of the ice and couldn't get back up the way I came due to ice! I then had to walk in the ice/snow/wind a mile and half up hill (not exaggerating length) to 78 to get picked up! Then I called Home Healthcare and asked if they could send someone with 4 wheel drive...they didn't and that person got stuck...really? Then my mom dropped me off across the field and i had to walk across the field in ice/snow/wind.....YUCK! Not to mention that the field is a farm field so I would sink down in random places. WORST DAY EVER!

Colts are in the SUPER BOWL! YEAH! :) A great game.......:)

This is a picture of Poochie guarding her "Sunday Football Treat" on our chair. She has been guarding no joke since Sunday and I took this Tuesday Morning. She refused to come to bed Sunday or Monday night and layed next to it.....not on the couch that had blankets. The only time she leaves it is when the other two have already gone outside to the bathroom and then she will go.....to eat/drink....and when I pick her up to put her away while we are at work.....she may be crazy......

Negative Feedback on Ebay.....WTF

So Some creeper asked to meet to pay and get the item he purchased on ebay. I politely said I do ebay because I do not have time to meet or run a store blah blah blah. He then writes back and says I will meet you anywhere blah blah blah. I then say that I attempted to be polite but I cannot meet strangers out and about in this day and age and asked for payment so I could ship. Note: The ebay item never said pick-up was an option but rather only shipping. So, then I get to my mom's house this morning and she says the ass left me negative feedback!
He said I was rude and a horrible ebayer!!! WTF! Do you watch those predator shows?? I am sooooo mad! Anyway, I opened a case and responded to the feedback.....creeper. If you ebay...pay for your stuff....or don't bid!!
I will write later of the my truck debacle on the hill later.....

Happy Belated Birthday Rebecca and Happy Birthday Today Char! :)

Well it was a good weekend minus being sick and sounding like a man! Saturday I got to hang out at home with Jeff all day! :)
Sunday I headed to Knoxville with Emily and my mom to go to an auction.......what a fun day! Everyone went to church in Norris (Jeff, ACE, Mom, Emily & I) then the girls headed in my farm truck with all three of us in the cab to Knoxville. The Auction was great fun minus the fact that mom found the Farmington Fan before me so she got to bid on it! BOO! Don't worry, I found some Farmington old pencils/pens and a very neat old toy chest plus lots of stuff for the store. (Oh and some postcards for the 1904 St. Louis world's fair) The best thing I found was just by chance. They had three 1984 Porcelain Cabbage patch dolls that Emily and I went over to look at just to see their names. Well Emily found the one she was looking ats name first...Jeffrey....so I said wouldn't that be funny if the other one was Jessica......IT WAS! Yep, I realize that both were very popular names in the 1980s but for them both to be there in their original boxes? Crazy huh? I got them both! :)
Emily is hilarious bidding, she won't make up her mind, then if she does get in she does not quit. At one point she said she wanted some boots/magazine rack and it was a dollar so mom yelled yes for her. Emily won but put her ticket up the wrong way with the number facing her and not the people who needed to see it! She was excited, then realized she also got another box of junk. :) (She also got an overstuffed chair and very cute end table!)
While Emily and I put everything in the truck with no one offering to help by the way! Mom proceeded to get the dirt on the guy Emily and I had said was cute. She found out somehow that he lived in Elmwood and was in Farmington the night before. For the rest of the time this guy avoided mom, We concluded he thought Mom was a cougar! HaHa! :)
Sunday was great.....I worked at the store for a bit then Jeff & I went to Peoria to run errands...ATE Qdoba (Jeff's Favorite!)
Oh the best part of my weekend you ask...COLTS WIN! And I'm not saying they will make it for sure to the Super Bowl because I dont' want to get cocky but I am sure glad we are playing the Jets! :) COLTS SUPERBOWL???? I hope so!

Wii Biggest Loser may be my death.....

Yep, I have been using my Wii Biggest Loser and let me tell you It is kicking my grass (Cover the GR----sidenote: This is what happened to austin in 1st or 2nd grade I believe, a kid wrote grass covered the gr and said to austin "what does this say" Austin of course read it and got in trouble when the kid said austin's cussed.....haha) Anyway, Yep every muscle in my legs hurt....but I guess that is good right? :)

I have almost finished my Gpa Sap photo collage for the store! It's very nice....It reminds me of how much I miss him looking at all the photos trying to pick out the good ones...I even made a copy of a photo and gma polly and gpa sap taken a week before their wedding for my antique locket I got a couple months ago...it looks amazing in it! The picture does not do it justice :)

Well I need to check my ebay stuff that is in its final hours! (My mom & I have done pretty well with our stuff this week!)

RIP Reeses

I was at Mom's yesterday waiting to give Gma Polly a bath, Austin gets home goes into his room and screams....I go to investigate....Reeses (His Guinea Pig) was dead! :( He is such a kind heart that he was already crying when I got in there. I checked to make sure he was in fact a carcass and see if I could tell how he died...no signs of anything and he had not been acting wierd and he'd been eating. So I tell him to wait for mom because I am not dealing with the Carcass. To this fact he looks at me dead serious and goes "Jess I cannot play video games with a carcass in my bedroom!" I busted up laughing, I know its horrible, poor kid just lost his pet but if you could have seen his face. Mom finally got home and dealt with the carcass......thank god. Then as I am changing Gma Polly's bedding I hear Austin go "What am I going to do with all that empty space? I need something to pull my room together." I again bust out laughing, Austin tells on me. But seriously, ACE I love you, but did you think that Guinea Pig cage tied your room together? :) As for the empty space I looked at mom and told her that he was definitely her son. So, RIP Reeses, You will be missed you spastic little guinea pig.

Manic Monday!

Had a visit to Dr. Matt this morning! :) My mom weaseled her way into going with me to see Dr. Matt because she has shockingly lost her keys....the same keys she just attached a big snowman to avoid losing! (Note: She hasn't driven since last wednesday so her keys are probably buried under a mound of snow!) ...So needless to say I had to take her to work with me....anyway, I made an appointment because my fatigue is back yet again. I looked up some stuff on webmd last week....and my self diagnosis is either thyroid issue (my 92 gma has taken a pill for it since she was about my age) or anemia due to my fatigue, being oddly cold all the time, bruising easily, and brittle nails. They had to take my blood (we all know how well I do with needles....I did ok.....I just tried to not faint by breathing in and out slowly) Hopefully the results of my blood work will be in soon! I just hope to get a better answer than ISU death services had of "some girls just get fatigue."
This week promises to be long...we are in the middle of figuring out new schedules and so I have few kids this week....making the days long!

Let It Snow.....Let It Snow.....Let It Snow

Ozzie LOVES the snow! He doesn't realize all his fur is gone or how short he is because he just runs through huge piles! Poochie HATES it and Payton just wants to chase cats no matter the weather......she has started this new game where she sits on your lap and tries to bite your nose then gets down then jumps up and snaps for your nose again.....She is our little crocodile! But the bites hurt sometimes! Haha
I prayed for a snow day Thursday because I love to stay in my pjs and just hang out around the house....and we got it!! YEAH! Jeff did not get a snow day, but I told him he had better call in sick because the roads were bad and our Jeep was in the shop getting fixed. He hates to call into work, but did to appease my fears..oh and I threatened to call his mom. :)

We spent the money at home....cleaning, watching tv, and playing civilization. Then went to pick up his Jeep around noon and headed into Farmington to list ebay items with Mom. Jeff played Madden with ACE.
Our Road is as expected bad, but the plow has been out several times so that helps a lot!! No one in the ditches so far this year....then again we haven't had any visitors recently.

The Volkswagon Camper I would Love to Have.....

We saw this camper in perfect condition at the Henry Ford Museum.....
This was one of the vintage ads for the Camper....... Not that I have the talent or ability to restore a camper....but I would love to find one of these to restore....It was sooooo cool! I loved it. Jeff would not be happy when I keep it in his garage to restore...I'll have to wait until Jeff's making lots of money to find one already restored.

Sap's Antiques and Uniques

The back wall that we worked on over break.....all the frames are filled with old photos of Farmington ......some back to early 1900s....

Wish I was little again....

The Puppies in their Christmas Sweaters! :) All sitting waiting for treats!
Being an adult sucks because when you were young things went wrong, you didn't have clean them up....know when the pipes freeze in the laundry room, you have to buy a spaceheater, get the pipes unfrozen only to find that the machine won't run...it's still too cold.....yep then you have to unload the water you just worked to get into the machine cup by cup into a bucket.....being an adult sucks....

Poochie on the other hand loved that the pipes froze because we used the spaceheater in our bedroom....Jeff said that she thought she was back in Mexico. She only came to bed once we moved the heater to face the bed and then we wormed her way into moving me over so she could be closest to the heater! :) HaHa

Biggest Loser-AWESOME! I do not know who my favorites are yet...but I hope the mother/son from Chicago do well since they are from IL! :)

Totally Forgot to Mention the POLAR PLUNGE!

Jeff decided to support the local Humane Society by jumping up to his shoulders into freezing cold water! He did great! We learned a lot about how to do it if he decides to do it again......1) go in with as little of clothing as possible 2) blankets ready to jump in the warm car and get dressed at home. After the plunge, he went into the changing room, and I wondered what was taking so long.....well he had thrown his wet clothes on the ground and they have frozen before he picked them up!!! I was very proud of him not for the jump (jumping into freezing water=stupid), but for raising money to help animals! :) YEAH JEFF! :) As for the rest of us...mom, austin, and me WE WERE FREEZING!

January 4th, 2010......Diet D-Day....

Today is the first day of my diet for 2010....i have a couple new years resolutions....one go on a diet....or rather a lifestyle food change for good.....and two keep in better touch with friends! So I've decided to keep this blog in order to do both :)
Christmas break was great.....a week and a half is never enough, but we fit a lot into that time! We visited Jeff's family, WM, Dawn/Derrick, Steve, my holiday god family, and my high school friends! It was great to see everyone! Best Christmas Gift: NKOTB Watch.......I wore it every day until Payton got it off the table and chewed up the one strap....I am very mad! Puppy classes appeared to not have worked....HaHa
My mom and I spent a lot of time at her store working on the back "community" room. We painted Farmington on the back wall and hung lots of old farmington pictures. I will post pictures soon. It is a room where we hope to have coffee and classes for kids and adults. January 21st, 2010 Frank Donath is coming to speak about old bottles...I can't wait...I love old stuff...hence my love for history. :)
Biggest Loser Season starts tomorrow! Yeah! I cannot wait! Well I guess I should get some work done!
